There is just something about Jack Nicholson in that movie that is magical. Its a little like watching Charlie and the Chocolate factory and thinking "I know Depp is great, but this just isn't Gene Wilder." Even the trailer shows hints that this could come true. The clip when the Joker shoots at Batman when stood in the middle of the road. And instead of a massive barreled pistol and bringing down the Batwing, its a tiny gun and the Batbike.
